Contact card reader (СCR-1)

In June 2019, in preparation for the development of mass production, it is planned to ensure the release of 10 units of each of the reader models for issuing to those interested in testing, integration or other organizational and technical measures, as well as receiving feedback from those interested for revision (if necessary ) Readers will be provided to those interested upon their request after signing an agreement on the free transfer of equipment for testing.

According to the results of the trial operation of readers, JSC "PROMSVYAZ" expects to receive appropriate feedback from users, which will be taken into account in the final documentation and design when setting up for production and organizing serial production.

3. Wishing to demonstrate the operation of the device in place, is OAO PROMSVYAZ ready to offer its ID-cards?

At present, JSC "PROMSVYAZ" is ready to conduct a demonstration of the readers' work for all those interested, individually or centrally. It should be borne in mind that the demonstration will be held:
on test ID-cards issued to the Ministry of Communications during the development of devices, and which were used when accepting the results of R&D, or other cards (if provided).
at a technical level (demonstration of codes of incoming requests, returned responses in accordance with national and international standards). It is possible to conduct a demonstration using top-level software (graphical shell, database), which own software is available at P JSC "PROMSVYAZ".

4. What is the full functionality of the device?

The main functionality of readers is to read information from biometric documents in contact and non-contact ways (depending on the model).
The devices support Plug and Play technology, which allows for their easy connection, as well as automatic detection and configuration in the computer and other technical devices running on Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
The readers comply with PC / SC requirements for physical, electrical compatibility, as well as compatibility of low-level data transfer protocols with contact cards according to STB 1211.1-2000, STB 1211.2-2000, STB 1211.3-2000 (ISO / IEC 7816) and contactless cards according to ISO / IEC 14443, meet the physical / mechanical interface requirements of ISO / IEC 7816
Contact dimensions and arrangement - in accordance with ISO / IEC 7816-2.
The contact ID card reader provides power for cards of class A, B, C and has a mechanism for automatically selecting the rated voltage of the card in accordance with ISO / IEC 7816-3.
The reader supports the following protocols: for contact cards ISO / IEC 7816 T = 0 and T = 1., For contactless cards - ISO 14443 protocol T = CL.
Upon request, a more detailed technical description may be provided, necessary to understand the capabilities of the device, the applied technical and software solutions.

5. Is it possible to supply a hardware-software complex, and not just the reader itself?

JSC "PROMSVYAZ", as an industrial enterprise, is engaged only in the development and serial production of readers that meet national and international requirements in this field.
The development and supply of a hardware-software complex used when working with electronic passports of citizens of the Republic of Belarus (ID cards), as well as the production and sale of national ID cards, is not within the competence of JSC "PROMSVYAZ" within the framework of the implementation of the state project for the implementation of biometric documents and the creation of the Belarusian Integrated Service Settlement System (BISRS) in the Republic of Belarus.

6. What information will be displayed on the monitor screen?

The volume and graphic format for providing the information recorded on the ID-card depends on the functionality of the application software and does not depend on the model of the reader.
Development and delivery of a hardware-software complex used when working with electronic passports of citizens of the Republic of Belarus (ID-cards) is not within the competence of JSC “PROMSVYAZ”. Application software is being developed by other implementers on the project.

7. What is the difference between reader models from each other. What model is recommended for use in government bodies and organizations?

Currently, preparations are underway for the mass production of two models of readers: a contact card reader (CCR-1) and a universal reader (UR-1).
The contact card reader (CCR-1) provides for reading information in a contact way from biometric documents (ID cards) of citizens. This model is intended primarily for domestic consumption and in places that do not require frequent use.
The reader is universal (UR-1), provides reading information from biometric documents in contact and non-contact ways. Due to the use of a non-contact module, the UR-1 model is ideally suited for workplaces where read operations are often carried out and require a higher processing speed (places of administrative procedures, points of sale).
For the needs of state bodies and organizations, the use of the UR-1 model is recommended.

8. Is it possible to use readers in conjunction with existing passport scanners?

The devices support Plug and Play technology, which allows for their easy connection, as well as automatic detection and configuration in the computer and other technical devices running on Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
Thus, a device connected to a standard configuration information system operating on the basis of the indicated operating systems will be automatically detected (as an HID device) and configured to operate using standard means of the operating systems themselves. In the future, the device can be selected by the user from the list of all devices available in the system directly in the application software. The issue of software interaction (data exchange) between the application software and the reader, including when reading ID cards, depends on the functionality of the application software itself.

9. Will these readers work with ID-cards (electronic passports) of foreign citizens?

The hardware and software capabilities of the readers are implemented in accordance with the requirements of the ISO / IEC 7816 interstitial standard. Thus, any electronic (eID) card that meets the specified international standard will be recognized and read at a technical level.
The issue of processing and visualizing the information recorded on the ID card depends on the capabilities of the user application software, including its connection to the databases of authorities and organizations that provided the issuance and recording of a foreign user ID card.
